Hello everyone, I am Phillip Levri. I am an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Personal Trainer. I am newly certified with ACE but I have been a personal trainer for over 12 years. It is my extreme passion to help people with their fitness goals. I have worked as a personal trainer in Alabama (Wynlakes Golf & Country Club), in Florida (PGA National Resort and Spa), and now here in Pennsylvania (Steel Core Fitness).
It was a little over a year after I started Personal training that I had my "A ha" moment. I moved from Montgomery, Alabama to West Palm Beach, Florida to start an incredible job at PGA National Resort and Spa. A couple months in I was asked to do a consultation for a woman who came to Florida every year when it got colder up North. Her name is Helen they explained to me, and she is a 72 year old from New York who is a cancer survivor and type 1 diabetic with an insulin pump. I immediately thought, wow, Helen is going to be a challenge. I had no idea! Helen showed up at her scheduled time and within a few minutes of speaking with her I realized I was being interviewed. Helen explained that she worked out 6 days a week- it would be 5 days with me and 1 on her own. Oh, and have I heard of kettlebells, she asked because that's what she works out with. Now I had heard of kettlebells, however, they were still pretty rare in 2006, and what I did know of them was from articles I had read in fitness magazines and always with huge bodybuilder types using them. So, I kept nodding my head and answering her questions. When Helen left she said she would be in on Monday morning 6:00 AM sharp. I then turned to the other trainers and asked is this for real? Oh yes!! was the only answer I received. So Monday morning arrived with extreme anticipation and excitement. Helen arrived with a thermos of coffee and two cups. We each had a cup and a talk and when she was ready, she said let's go. She then proceeded to work insanely hard that day and every day she came in, swinging kettlebells I was almost afraid to ask her to use. You see, Helen had found her fit, she knew I was there for support, encouragement, and sometimes comic relief, but she knew what she needed to do to feel great! That is what I want to bring to everyone I train.
Choose from 3 Services I offer.
1 on 1 Personal Training - To meet or exceed your fitness goals you need a minimum of 150 minutes of exercise per week. It doesn't matter if you are just beginning a workout program, or you have been exercising for years, we all need motivated at some point. It has been my experience that there is no better motivation than meeting with a personal trainer 1 on 1. They expect a lot from you and can help you reach what you may have thought impossible.
Small Group Training - Strength in numbers! There are many benefits of working out with small groups. Not only is the trainer supporting you, you also have your friends with you. Group training is also cost effective, 50% effective, That's pretty effective!
Active Buddy - So I was on a night hike with my nephew when striking up a conversation with one of the female hikers she said she would do a lot more exercising (walking, running) but she didn't feel safe going out by herself. Active Buddy was instantly swirling around in my head. There are plenty of reasons we don't exercise, feeling safe is no longer one of them. So you like to Hike, Bike, Walk, or Run? You would play a game of tennis or basketball but no one you know wants to? Active Buddy is here.
